Will a face mask provide protection from COVID-19 (Coronavirus)?
A face mask or covering does not provide protection against COVID-19 (Coronavirus) but it's important to note that it may help to reduce the risk of transmission to others if you are showing symptoms or carrying coronavirus (COVID-19). Regularly washing your hands, ensuring to cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, and not touching your face with unwashed hands still remain the most important preventative measures according to the latest government and NHS guidelines. Face masks or coverings should not be used as a replacement for social distancing or self-isolation.
How do I correctly wear my disposable face mask or covering?
Please follow the instructions displayed on the the face mask packaging which will tell you how to correctly fit them to your face, if the mask includes an adjustable nose bridge, use your index finger to pinch the nose bridge to ensure a snug fit then secure with the ear loop fastenings. It is important to wash your hands before and after fitting the mask. Once fitted, you should avoid touching the mask with your hands to reduce the risk of hand to mask transmission.
